To date we have done 18 years of military service... we have spent nearly 11 of those years over seas.  We have had many adventures, seen wondrous sights, experienced fascinating things... some frustrations and heart aches, true...  but all in all, it's been fun... The recruiters say the Air Force is a great way of life... it's not a GREAT way.. but it is a good way, and we have mostly enjoyed it.

Click on a link below to see some of our adventures around the globe!

Beale AFB, California...  Our first duty assignment from 1986 to 1989.  Located 40 minutes north of Sacramento it was a lovely introduction into the Air Force world.

Hahn AFB, Germany...  1989 to 1992, we started out at Wuesheim, a missile base very near Hahn, then closed it down and moved to Hahn proper.  The entire tour we lived in one apartment over a bier stube in Zell am Mosel.  This is where Hans Christian joined us.

Laughlin AFB, Texas... 1992 to 1994, two years of hell for Curt, but a wonderful time at Family Services for me... but when the job is rough, the entire tour is rough... it's the only place where he can count the days he was there.  This is where DeForest joined us.

Incirlik AB, Turkey... 1994 to 1996, two years of hard times, and good times... a land of opposites, Turkey, our favorite assignment yet, but also one of the most difficult.

Ghedi AS, Italy... 1996 to 1998, best thing about Italy was the food... and how close it is to Germany, nice place to visit, but we would not want to live there again.

Beale AFB, California... twice... yes... twice... this time from 1998 to 2001.  Many good things come from Beale this time around... a nice location, nice base, not a hardship to live there twice.

RAF Lakenheath, England... 2001 to 2004...  Worst.  Tour.  Ever.
